Redthread provide a Youth Violence Intervention Programme which runs in hospital emergency departments in partnership with the major trauma network. West Midlands services operate in Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Heartlands Hospital
The youth work team sit alongside the clinical staff and meet the young patients as soon as they can: in the A&E waiting room, on the ward, or even in the resuscitation bay. After leaving the hospital, we mentor and advise the young person and support them to make long-term positive plans.
Referrals are picked up by youth work team via the A&E.
